Her film years ran in three phases: the golden era of the 1980s, a short return in the late 1990s, and the mature-genre comeback of 2005 to 2009.
Between them she toured as a feature dancer, took a small mainstream role in Body Double, and completed a Health Sciences qualification. Her final credits came in 2009.
Studios
Her credits ran across VCA Pictures, Vivid Entertainment, Caballero Home Video, CDI, Las Vegas Video, Arrow Productions, Bel-Air and Filmco Releasing, among others. The comeback years added Naughty America and its My Friend’s Hot Mom series, Vivid’s Flasher, and the mature-market magazines of the Score Group, including 40SomethingMag and Forty Plus Video Magazine. Compilation labels kept her name on shelves long after retirement, from Hot Shorts: Cara Lott (1986) to Porn Star Legends: Cara Lott (2013).

Later years
Lott’s last credits in the industry date from 2009. In 2013 she appeared at the Protecting Adult Welfare Bare Bowling fundraiser, one of her few public appearances after retiring. She died on March 19, 2018, in Orange County, California, aged 56, and AVN published its obituary the next day. Peers remembered her warmly, and there was no public memorial service.
